How We Train

1027 Performance (spoken "Ten Twenty-Seven") offers access to high level athletic development philosophy and teaches athletes how to train, think, and live like athletes.

Our training philosophy is simple:

1) Get the body able to be in the correct positions.

2) Get strong enough in those positions.

3) Get in and out of those positions with speed and power.

4) Control the mind; don't be your own worst enemy.

5) Sprint fast and sprint often. You can't run fast without trying to run fast.

4 Pillars of Athletic Development

1027 Performance Training Philosophy

Move Well

The human body must be able to move well in order to be athletic and perform at its peak potential. Moving well allows us to develop all other traits. Without this trait, elite athleticism cannot be attained.

Be Strong (Enough)

Unless you are a power lifter or an olympic lifter, your sport is not played in the weight room. Strength is very important. An athlete must possess enough relative strength, but strength is not the ultimate goal.

Run Fast

In order to run fast, you have to run fast. Most athletes never get to 5th gear because they aren't exposed to enough high velocity running. One of the best ways to gain elite speed is to sprint often.

Control the Mind

A negative mindset can derail an athlete. At 1027, we make it a priority to help athletes learn how to control their inner-self dialogue. We, as athletes, must believe in ourselves and in our training.

1027 Performance is like a GPS...

We can't drive the car for you, but we show you how to get there and guide you along the way.
